APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR THE 2017 GATES CAMBRIDGE FULL SCHOLARSHIP FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDY (MASTERS, PHD) AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

Gates Cambridge considers applications from citizens from outside the United Kingdom who wish to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge. See the eligibility page for details

Eligibility:

Gates Cambridge selects Scholars using four criteria: academic excellence, leadership potential, a commitment to improving the lives of others and a good academic fit with Cambridge. You can read about how we interpret these the  ideal candidate page.

How to apply:

Apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship at the same time as the application for a degree course, a College place, and any other funding opportunities through the University of Cambridge Graduate Applicant Portal. You will need to supply various supporting documents (e.g. transcripts and academic references), including a personal reference for your application to Gates Cambridge.

In order to make the best possible application you should read the entire Apply section of this website in conjunction with the University’s Graduate Admissions website and the website of the department to which you intend to apply. We advise you to research admission and funding as early as possible and not leave your application until the last minute.

THE OXFORD-WEIDENFELD AND HOFFMANN SCHOLARSHIPS AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £14,296). Awards are made for the full duration of the candidate’s fee liability for the agreed course.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, the candidate select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the University of Oxford Scholarships section of the University’s graduate application form and submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course (6 or 20 January 2017). THE ROBERT S. MCNAMARA FELLOWSHIPS PROGRAM FOR PHD RESEARCH ON DEVELOPMENT

The World Bank Robert S. McNamara (RSM) Fellowships Program is open to women and men of developing countries undertaking PhD research related to development. Applicants should currently be university lecturers or researchers residing in developing countries.

Eligibility:

·         Be a citizen of a World Bank member developing country;

·         Not be a dual citizen of a developed country;

·         Be 35 years of age or younger on the Application Deadline date;

·         Be enrolled in a PhD program in a member developing country of the World Bank at the time you submit your application;

·         Reside in a member developing country of the World Bank since enrolled in the PhD program;

·         Have completed all coursework and exam requirements for attaining a PhD at the time you submit your application;

·         Have a PhD thesis centered on a field of development.

·         Not be a staff member (which includes consultant) or a relative of a staff member of the World Bank Group.

Award:

Up to $25,000 (U.S.) for developing country nationals to travel abroad to conduct development-related PhD research under the supervision of a host research advisor at a university, research or development institution in a World Bank member country. Scholarship covers a 6 to 10 month period starting between April and September 2017. Preference in selecting fellows will be given to applicants currently employed as a lecturer or researcher at an academic or research institution in a member developing country of the World Bank.
